USS Angeles celebrates 20 years!

The USS Angeles celebrated its 20th anniversary March 21 with about 30 members, former members and guests at the house where it all started: Founder Janice Willcocks’ home in a Los Angeles suburb.
We watched videos and a slide show reflecting our long history of away missions, holodeck adventures and participation at Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas and the Hollywood Entertainment Museum. We discussed our history (including the USS Angeles movie “Price of Duty” and our video series “Voyages of the USS Angeles,” which preceded the independent “Hidden Frontier” franchise), toasted our success and enjoyed seeing familiar, new and returning friends.
I’m proud of this crew, our Command Staff and our long history of “Star Trek” fandom, away missions and community service. Here’s to the next 20 years! Live long and prosper!
And for those who aren’t members yet, don’t hesitate to say “Beam me up, Scotty!” (Or “Beam me up, Dave!”) We have a transporter, built by Command Staff member Cliff Gardner, who brought it to the party for photo ops!
Curious about us? Contact me at dave@ussangeles.org to learn about a great way to celebrate “Star Trek” with your fellow fans. Live long and prosper (and pass the chocolate)!
