USS Angeles members are stepping forward again to help AIDS and HIV patients.
Members will participate in the 6.2-mile AIDS Walk Los Angeles on Oct. 15 at Grand Park, 200 N Grand Ave., in downtown L.A. Paul Szymborski, Kathy Carder, Jay Gerber and I have volunteered for this year’s team.
The sign-ins begin at 8:30 a.m. We’ll meet at 8:45 a.m. in front of the AIDS Walk ceremony stage in front of Los Angeles City Hall. The ceremony will start at 9:15 a.m. and will feature celebrity speakers.
Last year, Kathy, Jay, Paul and I participated in the walk. Friends Annette and Danny Hardon joined us. We and Jeremy Kranz, who couldn’t be at the walk but collected donations, raised more than a thousand dollars.
The entire 2016 walk raised $2 million for APLA Health and its services for AIDS and HIV patients.
