USS Angeles helps maternity home

By Karen Hoagland
Community Service Director

The USS Angeles has donated a variety of items to Angels Way Maternity Home in Woodland Hills. The center serves single, pregnant women, 18 and older, who have decided to give birth.
The center’s services during a crisis pregnancy meet spiritual, psychological, educational and physical needs. They include weekly counseling sessions to help the woman explore her feelings and realistically evaluate her choice to raise her child or place her baby in an adoptive home.
The facility is an nondenominational Christian facility that serves women regardless of their faith, race or national origin.
Angels Way’s objective is to assist the mother in developing a sense of self-worth and help her to become a responsible, productive and self-sufficient individual, prepared for independent living.
