Crew explores happiest place on Earth

By Fleet Capt. Dave Mason
USS Angeles members beamed down to a good club turnout and short lines July 2 at Disneyland.
Eric Fillman, Sue-Ellen and Carl Fox and I enjoyed the Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear. (Earlier, Eric and I took a flight on Star Tours.)
Matt and Maria Cox joined me later for Space Mountain, which has returned to its classic, totally-in-the-dark format. The three of us also walked down the reopened Big Thunder Trail, complete with new rock formations.
Lines were short throughout the Independence Day weekend. Apparently people stayed home to celebrate the holiday with their families. I went to the park July 1 and managed to do 16 rides in a six hours.

it is much easier to walk in Adventureland with the relocation of stroller parking.
For more photos, go to our gallery in the menu bar above. And join us at noon on the last Sunday of each month for our Disneyland adventures. We look forward to the July 29 reopening of the Rivers of America, which will include new waterfalls and a re-routed Disneyland Railroad crossing above a new Columbia River gorge. It will complement the landscape of the new Star Wars Land, set to open in 2019.
