By Fleet Capt. Dave Mason
The voyages of the USS Angeles take us from the realm of magic to the frontier of space. Along the way, we encounter some pirates.
In May, we beamed down to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and saw “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
This Saturday, we will continue our enthusiasm for the high seas with a pirate-themed party at a member’s home.
Earlier this year, we went to “Star Trek” filming sites such as The Japanese Garden in the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys. It’s Starfleet Academy and Headquarters from the various “Star Trek” spinoffs.
This fall, we’ll go where Capt. Kirk fought the Gorn: Vasquez Rocks.
Yes, we love “Star Trek.” Our club started because of “Star Trek.” And we embrace other sci-fi and fantasy genres, everything from “Doctor Who” to comic book heroes. Captain America, we’re right behind you!
If your heart is stirred by sci-fi, if your imagination is ignited by space, we’re the club for you. We’re a very active club, and you’re welcome to be part of our adventures. Just click on “Join us” above.
