Lights dimmed for James Horner

The Ventura County deputy medical examiner has confirmed “Star Trek” composer James Horner died recently in a small plane crash in Los Padres National Forest, north of Los Angeles.
The USS Angeles dims its lights in honor of the Oscar winner, who scored “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock,” as well as “Titanic,” “Aliens, “Apollo 13” and other movies. He was known for a lyrical style that spoke to the thrill of adventure and the excitement of discovery.
